"Keep the ocean on your right."
So the road trip has begun, and we've made it as far as Adelaide, which is a pretty cool city. Would be tempting to stay here and work for a while but that just doesn't look like an option. Got the impression we had done some serious amount of traveling, but when I look on the map of Oz it's apparent that we haven't even made a dent in the trip!
Ah well, it's great fun. Generally we've been camping. We got a tent with the car which has worked out great. It's a 4 man tent which suits us fine. Would be even more spacious except Aaron sleeps diagonal and there is one area of the tent reserved for his walk in closet.
We met our 'tent buddys' a few days in to the trip...3 Australians, 4 or 5 years younger than us, with the same tent...who pointed out that we had set the tent up wrongly, ignoring crucial elements of the structure which even a team of monkeys would have figured out
We have developed a bit of a fascination with lighthouses and even managed to get up one.
Seeing some great stuff along the Great Ocean Road and the rest of the coast; the 12 apostles, london bridge, a giant lobster. All good.
And so we've made it to our next state, South Australia...the driest state in the driest country which welcomed us with rain and rainbows. Nice.
Going to on a tour of vineyards tomorrow to educate our palettes and try to stimulate taste buds which had been destroyed through years of Dutch Gold.
Dingo is holding up well, despite smoking at one point, the glove compartment falling off, a noisy door, a tempermental boot, several broken instruments, 4 parking tickets, 1 speeding ticket, 2 turtle doves and a partridge in the windshield.

1 - A typical moment in our camping routine
. All went out for beers, and they snuck home early and re-set-up our tent correctly for us! How cool is that?? We only noticed in the morning, so it was too late to thank them. They dazzled us with their tent erecting ability, and they shall always hold a place in my heart. We have developed a bit of a fascination with lighthouses and even managed to get up one.
