New City, Old Friends
Entry 10 of 32 | show all | print this entry |
We woke up early and checked out of the hostel and made our way to Jordan via the MTR. It was a bit too early to phone william so we decided that we would do laundry so we searched out a laundromat. No one knew what they were and we eventually found a small dry cleaners that would do our laundry for around 4-5CA$ each, though we thought it was a bit expensive we went for it anyways.
We made our way down the street to Williams hotel and phoned him from outside his room door as he was still sleeping. We had 3 hours untill we had to go pick up our clothes so we all took a shower (not together, I knew you were thinking that) and went to find a post office so mackenzie could send his purchases from Beijing home. 400HKD later and mackenzies package would be home in 3 days.
We picked up our clothes and were happy to find they had been washed, dryed ironed and folded for us, not bad for 5$.
We had a few hours to kill before we met up with our other friends. The three of us being foreigners, I suggested the only thing I did last year...the mall.
The three of us made our way to Kowloon Tong, to the mall which name I always forget shopped there for a few hours only every buying an ice cream untill we met Danny at Mong Kok.
Being too early for dinner the four of us walked through the ladies market in Mong Kok untill we eveuntually stopped at a fruit/desert resturant where we would meet up with Roger and Hugh. I was great, I hadn't seen Roger, Danny or William for a few months, and I hadn't seen Hugh since the last time I was in HK.
Since Roger and Danny had to leave around midnight that ruled out a club (which mackenzie had been looking forward too since Beijing) and we did the only thing real chinese could do, karaoke!
Hugh left us within 30 minutes as he has a previous arrangement to meet his other friends (though I am happy he made time to come see us). We did the obligatory toast of beer, then the 5 cans went straight to Mackenzie as no one but him actually likes beer...
The hours went by fast, a new girl from Ste Cecile named Clarice (that I had met before) met up with us around 11. 12 came, Roger had to leave and Mackenzie was getting a bit fed up with it, so we said our goodbyes and headed back to Williams hotel around 12:30 as we had an early flight to Manila in the morning.
