Up early for 6.15 pickup, out to tour operators office for checkin and sorting into buses for the day, then we were off on our way. On way went through Henderson where Tom Selleck, Debbie Reynolds, Michael Jordan, Celine Dion and others live, their houses are huge as you would expect, driver also pointed out Bob Hopes old house which sits on top of a hill and is round. Through Boulder City which has no gambling at all, to our first stop at Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam was amazing, the sheer size of it, as well as the logistics that went into creating it, a fascinating story.then we were off on our way to Grand Canyon, after check-in, and weigh-in, we were assigned our seats on the helicopter, lucky me got to be co-pilot. For about 10 seconds after takeoff i was wondering what the hell i was doing, then the nerves settled and really enjoyed the view and the descent into the canyon. After we landed in the canyon there was a steep walk down to the dock to board the punt for a 20 minute ride along the Colorado river. Funny how it looks deeper from the top than the bottom, but at the point we were on the river, the sides of the canyon were approximately 5000 feet from the water to the top. Then boarded the helicopter again for our ascent to the top, by this stage no more nerves, just thoroughly enjoyed it. Back at the top we had a few hours left to look around and have some lunch, sounds like a long time, but still didn't get to see everything. Arrived back in Vegas about 6ish, after a very enjoyable day, the highlight of which was the helicopter ride!
