Bree would have liked to spend more time there, didn't really get a lot of time to go through the museum.
On the way back to the hotel we went past an outside crew filming scenes from an upcoming episode of Hawaii Five-O, but wasn't quick enough to get a picture, and didn't see any of the main characters.
Then on the trolley and out to Ala Moana shopping mall where Chris, Bree & I managed to while away a few hours, (mainly Tiffany's, Victorias Secret, Macy's and the Disney Shop). Had a lovely time and got quite a few lovely purchases, including a Silver bracelet for me from Tiffany's, and Bree bought the matching necklace for the bracelet she bought there last year, we have set a trend, both have something from Tiffany's for the last 2 years, it will have to become a tradition I think
An easy day planned for tomorrow, then a Luau tomorrow night.
hithe trip today was to visit the Arizona Memorial and the Missouri , a very interesting visit made all the better for the wonderful tour guide , Being on the Arizona Memorial was very eerie , standing on the tomb of 100's of sailors who's bodies still lay on the bottom. the Missouri is a huge ship could easily get lost if all parts were open to the public. Stood on the spot where history was made to end WW2 with the Japanese, good day out..
We went to see Pearl Harbour today which is an amazing place with so much history. The Americans openly say we made mistakes that is why we were bombed, I think they give the history and facts in a very informative way, our tour guide Sandy was also great with the info she gave us. Punchbowl is really nice glad the service men and women have such a nice resting place after everything they went through
They have left one ship where it sank and that was the Arizona which is a tomb for 1500 men that was aboard when it was bombed and sank very solemn and sad place knowing that those men are under you entombed in the ship, it still leaks 2 quarts of oil every day which is considered to be the tears of the men and the ship, they feel it will continue to leak for the next 100 years. We also were on the battle ship Missouri which was really interesting, even though the ship has been modernised it is still pretty primitive. You have to really like ladders to see this ship and they are ladders not steps!
Bonnie & i went to the Army Museum today & then found out it was the only day they were closed lol. So we went to the beach, I was busting to go to the bathroom and the only toilets at the beach - had NO doors on them!! I couldnt believe it, so Beanie being the nice sister that she is - instead of being on the look out for people coming in - she was trying to take photos of me!!! Niiccce!
