Mom and I had a great time in Hershey eventhough the hotel was doing construction right outside our door at 7am. We did not know they were doing construction and heard drilling, hammering, etc. Needless to say after we pulled in after midnight on Sunday, we were pretty tired and were not pleased to wake up so early. We complained to the management and they said that we should have known that they were doing construction since it was on their website. What the manager failed to check was to see if we had made our reservation online which we had not. Afterwards, we checked their home page for anything saying that they were under construction and nothing was listed. DO NOT STAY there. We went in the morning to Hershey's Chocolate Works since you can't tour the actual facility anymore. We enjoyed an early lunch, the ride with the cows singing and all the chocolate you could purchase in their shops. It was a big tourist trap! Lots of candy. Lots and Lots. Yes, the town DOES smell like chocolate especially during the day when the factories are running. Drive by the Reese's factory and you can smell the melted peanut butter and chocolate. Interesting smell! Cute town over-all and I wish we could have stayed one more day. The Hershey Hotel looked really nice and I would have liked to stay there but it was over 200 dollars a night. OH WELL. You live and you learn.
