Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Last night we had dinner at a Fado diner & a show kinda place.  Food was OK and I really enjoyed the singing.  It was in a very local feeling kind of area.

We made it back to the hotel in time to pass out after much walking throughout the day.

This morning we awoke and had a leisurely breakfast before heading out to the airport to grab our rental car.

Driving here is much less hectic than in Italy, but it still makes me a little crazy to drive in a foreign country for the first few hours.

We made it to Fatima in time for lunch and a quick stroll around the place.  It is really huge!  I believe that the area is bigger than St Peter's Square.  It was amazing how it was hard to get a good sense for the size of it.  At first I was amazed by the optical illusions of distance, size and space.

From there drove on to Port another couple of hours where with a little effort (and only turning around once) we found the hotel.  Pretty impressive looking, even if its a bit of a distance form the center of town.

I fell in love with Port, Portugal!!!  It gave me an old world San Francisco feel.  The city of bridges--it sure has lots of them and they look spectacular at night.

Not much more for today as we're rushing out to breakfast and on our adventure in search of the Faria castle.  I have GPS coordinates that I hope are correct.  Hopefully I'll have photos of that this evening.

Hope you're having a wonderful Friday!!
