As we knew were going to be hanging around on Mr Bamforth Carl and myself had a bit of a lie in...well that and it was raining and there were hordes of midges awaiting us the moment the tent zip went into action.  After a lovely breakfast of dry rolls and machine made tea from the adjacent garage we packed up and headed into Dunoon.  While we were doing this Bamo was in the Inverarry surgery finding out that he had torn his ligaments...by the time he had called we had found out that there was no campsite in downtown Dunoon so resolved to get across the water and find something there.

While we were awaiting the arrival of Mr Bamforth from Inverarry me and Carl discovered the lunchtime special at the point curry house...for 4 quid each we had a proper slap up curry...I have never seen anyone eat with so much appetite as Carl did that curry.

Bamo turned up and we got the boat across to Greenock.  As Phil's knee wasn't too bad I got on the phone to my mum who worked with our Davie to find us some campsite options which they dutifully did.  In the end we got as far as Largs, the campsite was a couple of miles up a hill out of town but turned out to be great.  Just as me an Phil were having a nice chat with the owner Carl screamed in and proceeded to fall on his arse when he hit the gravel which was well funny.  Not only did the owner give us the camping for free (thank you Mr South Whittleburn Farm) but his mate (Alan Cornwell) came down and donated 20 quid to our charity fund...all keep an eye on Bamo and make sure he adds this to the just giving page...

The midges made cooking at the tent impossible so it was an hours walk into town for a haggis supper and a session watching the tour de France in the pub before bed.

Long walk to town.  Haggis supper on sea front and then tour de France
