Had a fabulous few days.  Unfortunately the hotel wasn't great but the location was, so we headed off to find a New York Deli on 7th Ave and filled ourselves up on full, American breakfasts. Our first tour was at the Rockefeller Centre or Top of the Rock 67 floors.  WOW!  It never ceases to amaze, the views were breathtaking.  We then headed off to the heliport for our 15 minute trip around the city, again trying to take in the full magnitude of this fabulous metropolis.  Sian & Max were thrilled to see all the sights.

As Simon had only packed one of everything we went shopping at Macy's, however it was the day before Father's Day AND there was a massive one day sale, talk about bedlam!  Anyway we joined the scrum and stocked up on Simon's gear and I even managed to squeeze in a pair of shoes!

Times Square had such a fabulous energy, all walks of life mingling around and of course it wouldn't be a trip without hearing the Naked Cowboy strumming his guitar.  The Lion King at the Minskoff Theatre was superb, a real highlight of the trip and doesn't seem to be coming to an end anytime soon, as the performance was a sell out and received a standing ovation.

We took the kids to FAO Schwarz, Max headed straight to the Lego section.  On our way we bumped into Jedward, after much persuasion I forced Sian to have her photo taken with them, she's not happy as she thinks they're lame.  Toys R Us in Times Square was also on their list, as was the very overhyped Dylan's Candy Bar but they managed to find gob stoppers the size of their heads so were very pleased. We then headed back via Bloomingdales to get ready for the Katy Perry Concert.

I could only book the Boathouse in Central Park for Monday so a belated Father's Day lunch. Simon took us all out on a row boat on the lake, while we all took turns in rowing he was of course critiquing our technique and it wouldn't be complete without rowing through low hanging branches and swaying from side to side nearly tipping us all in the drink.  We then meandered through the park, finding a harpist playing, Simon said," I wished I was har-pist in the park!"  Funny.  Our visit wouldn't be complete without going to Strawberry Fields, though the kids were more interested in the place where John Lennon was shot.  We headed back to the hotel, packed and got ready to go.  20 minutes after calling the bell hop we took our own luggage down to the lobby and then listened to Simon tell the hotel Manager exactly how he felt about their service.....

So we're off to Denver to pick up the RV.  Kids are besides themselves with excitement.
