Royal Albert Hall...with 600 Cornish bold....

A terrific night!

Cambiata were good (assisted in a couple of numbers by Dalla).
The youth orchestra were great....
...but the audience of 5,000 had really come to hear the 600 - and they weren't disappointed.
The opening song was ambitious - Steven waves his hands, there is one chord from the piano and the whole choir follows in fortissimo with LET THERE BE LIGHT.

For me the last set of four songs was the best, especially the power of Deus Salutis and the long quiet harmonies in the The Lord's Prayer. These two songs followed my absolute favourite - the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves (aka Speed Your Journey) from Verdi's opera Nabucco where the choir was joined by the youth orchestra.

As we concluded the set with the Battle Hymn of the Republic (...glory glory hallelujah...) I could see the faces on the nearby youth orchestra light up as they were spellbound by the harmonies of  '...his truth goes marching on...' and I knew we had hit the spot!
It's great to sing - try it!!

It's a privilege to sing with with such voices and to raise (I don't know how many) thousands of pounds for local charities. As for the Albert Hall - all I can say is it beats the Sydney Opera House (Kernow Choir - Sunday 23 May 2003)

There are several videos from the concert posted on utube, but I think the best of them is
