Sitting in departures sipping tea and nibbling a Marks and Spencer chocccino muffin, using my NEXUS 7 with a Bluetooth keyboard....THIS IS GREAT!
The last month has been pretty hectic packing up the house and sorting things out, but we finally left on Monday and now we are really on our way. The next week we spend in Ireland. Then I return for a choir practice in Redruth followed by some walking on the South West coastal path in Dorset, a week in France and back for THE CONCERT (Royal Albert Hall, Sat 2nd November). THEN we will be off to Florida and continue South and West through Central and South America, NZ and Oz, and S.E. Asia till we get back to Blighty next June!
It`s been a long time in the planning, but now we have overcome all sorts of practical complications such as vaccinations and visa and great weights have been lifted.
WE HAVE LIFT OFF!!
The Sandymount House, Friday 4 October
After a superb steak and ale pie, we went to the pub for a bevvy.
This being Ireland, they are always revolting (or celebrating) something and on this occasion it was the centenary of the 1913 Dublin Lockout, a violent industrial conflict for the workers' right to unionise and for better wages and conditions (see tower, left side of photo).
