A stunning coastal route today that was simply perfect. Top roads, fantastic views and the most fabulous South Indian dosa - served on a banana leaf - that cost the equivalent of 30 pence. The best one I've ever had.
I had a leisurely start and left at about 10.30 intent on a 'follow my nose' type route. I was intent on keeping the sea to my left for as much as possible and managed to stick with it for most of the day.
I arrived here at about 4 ish - found a good guest house on the cliff - parked the bike and went walkabout. I was last here about 5 years ago and on first impressions things don't appear to have changed that much. The one thing that has noticeably changed though is me - I'm much happier than I was back then - with no worries about having to return home and being contactable and 'on call' so to speak. This was a work thing that fortunately ended a couple of years ago. Result!!!!
Anyway, the beach should apparently arrive in the next week or so as the season and tide changes. The coastline and beach to the north is still stunning though and I'll be swimming in the morning.
I might be here for a week or so as I'm also hoping to do some yoga but we'll wait and see.
So, free wifi at a cliff top bar looking out to the Arabian sea.
And ten minutes after writing that.....................They've just started playing Hotel California by the Eagles.
Life is really really good - more beer I think ;-)
