We left Varanasti on the morning of the 8th and rode the 150kms to Aurangabad. It took a while to work our way out of Varanasi but I was glad when we were out on the bridge crossing the ganges and leaving it behind. Our hotel was fab but the city, in my opinion, was a bit grim. NH2 was an easy ride and we stopped at the hotel in the mid afternoon. After a quick shower and watching the end of Notting Hill on tv we wondered  up the noisy dusty main road and I managed to pick myself up a lunghi to add to my extensive travelling clothes wardrobe. After scoff at the hotel it was an early night before a planned early ish start. That 'plan' soon changed when I saw that my back tyre was flat - hey ho! Following repair we again set off and travelled on a yellow unclassified road. The road was good in places and having made good time we stopped for chai just prior to a single track bridge. What a mistake that was!

Given the fact that every Indian  driver is in a rush and nobody queues it didn't take long for the bridge to block up and it took two hours for the army/police to organise bridge clearing then some traffic control before we could ride over! We pulled up 10kms later and booked into a reasonable looking hotel but had to spend the night with more fleas and bugs then I care to think about. I was glad to have my silk liner but could still feel the movement of the little critters whilst awake  / dozing.

We left at 7.30 this morning and are now in ranchi and another reasonable hotel but no bed bugs hopefully. Today's riding was stunning and at times felt like being in Africa. Very little traffic and we'll removed from modern life with the farming communities and their animals dotted around.
Rich has now booked his flight from kolkata to Delhi (mon) and we're planning on arriving there Friday. The lions share of the mileage is now done and we just need to ride in.

'll get the mighty impulse serviced at the weekend ready for the next few thousand kms.
I'll hopefully update this in the next few days .
