Well, this is my last stop in Uruguay. The sun is shining, not very warm but nevermind. This place is really very cute, it has a lovely feel to it with its cobblestone roads. The old port is sweet, looking out over the Rio Plata...which actually looks purple.

Took in a short walking tour, ambled around, had some wine (see below) and cooked our usual bizarre pasta concoction in the kitchen. This involved finally figuring out how to use this bizarre tin-opener thingy they have here. It might actually give me an insight as to how I am supposed to use the one on my penknife..I will keep you updated.

Taking a ferry to Buenos Aires tonight, so back into Argentina. I am so muddled with all these currencies I have no idea anymore. Caroline and I have also looked at each other a couple of times and said,¨where are we?¨

p.s. we bought a bottle of Uruguayan wine and we could not get the cork out so I put it in my bag to take to our next hostel, hoping for a strong man. Sadly it broke in my bag, what a waste of white wine. Nonethless, my Lonely Planet guide has been christened. We compensated ourselves with a bottle of red (Jo I think you would have really enjoyed it, it was a Tannat).

p.p.s left for Canada 4 months ago today!
