Awaking on our last morning in Vienna, we decided we could take just a little more of this amazing city before we left, so we headed for the Schloss Schönbrunn - the summer palace of the Hapsburgs just outside the city. Its a huge and amazing place with some gorgeous gardens, but what we liked the most was the mazes - 3 of them, with lots of fun things to play with scattered around in them, including giant fountains you make squirt jets of water by standing on a platform, and a dance-glockenspeil.

Having amused ourselves muchly, wilting from the heat, and vowing to return to this city which has been the highlight of the trip so far, we climbed into the car to head east once more. After a few hours we arrived in Budapest, 1500 miles from home, ready to prepare for the centre-piece of our trip, the week-long Sziget festival. We're staying in a nice hotel and preparing ourselves for 7 nights of festival camping in the tremendous heat. More updates soon if we survive...

what goes on...
at the festival then? Is it music or arts or a bunch of things? I am obviously out of touch with the EuroFestivities.
