Hi guys, well i took a night train from krakow to Vienna and was then supposed to take another train 40mins later to Venice arriving at 1.30pm, but it didnīt quite work out that way! I had a sleeper on the night train but as usual i couldnīt sleep, so i was up dressed and loaded with my luggage at 5.45am because the train was due to arrive at 6am. The conductor kept talking to me in german and of course i couldnīt understand him, but finally a lady explained that we wouldnīt be arriving in Vienna for another hour....i of course said no and showed him by connecting train ticket to Venice and he said that i would for sure miss it, and i did. There wasnīt another train for 7hours! So i put my backpack in storage and thought well i can at least explore some of Vienna...but i was 20mins walk away from the station when the heavens opened and it poored with rain for the next few hours and i spent most of it sitting in a cafe. When i did finally arrive in Venice the information office was closed and i didnīt have a map. I only had directions to walk and it was 10.00pm at night and i donīt like to walk alone at that time of night with all my luggage, so i saw lots of people getting on a water taxi and asked if he knew where my hostel was, he said yes it was 5 stops, but when we reached 5 stops i went to get off and he said another 3 stops? So i asked a few other people and was told it was 2 more stops. Lucky for me i got off at the right stop, got lost for about 20mins, then found the hostel.

The next morning i walked to the train station with still no map to go buy one and then went exploring the lovely maze of tiny streets and canals in Venice. I covered a lot of areaīs in the 2 days i was there, San polo which was where the hostel was located, very central. San Marco which is a huge square with lots of famous buildings and hoards of people,Dorsoduro and Santa Croce the Jewish area. The weather was beautiful and i found myself taking photo`s of people because when you go to the famous bridges and markets there are 1,000`s of people all walking in one direction.

On my last evening i went to the casino with an Auzi girl called Fiona because she has a friend who sends her lucky numbers for roulette and that day she had won 300 Euro`s and she wanted to go play some more. Sadly that was her one lucky streak but we had fun and stopped at a few bars by Rialto bridge and got totally lost at 2am because we were walking and talking and not looking for street signs or landmarks, we finally found someone local to find our way home arriving around 4pm!

So the next day i slept in till noon, then checked out and took a train to Slovenia.

Bye for now Jo.
