Hi guys, i was lucky enough to stay with an old school pal in Lund, Marcus Cooper. We went to school together from 5years to 16years & haven't seen each other for at least 13years. Marcus lives in Lund which is a small town but has a huge University so plenty of students around.

There was a free festival going on for a week in Malmo, so we went there 2 evenings & enjoyed the music. There was a guy named Mike Patten who used to be in Faith no More & now calls himself Mondo Kane, he is originally from Italy & sang in Italian with the Malmo orchestra. It was unusual music & Mike was very rude but entertaining. He kept taking the mickey out of the Swedish people but no one left the concert...a few nights later we watched a band called Backdrop Murphy's who were really good.

I spent an afternoon looking around Lund which is an old town with some history, there is an old cathedral, botanical gardens, fine arts building, impressive university building, lovely cobbled streets an markets A Twisted Gun..Modern Art

I also explored Malmo by day which is a 10min train ride from Lund & saw the sites. I saw the Turning Torso, a very impressive twisted building 190m high with with 54 storey's, the highest building in Sweden, it is twisted at a 90 degree angle from bottom to top. I visited the oldest Renaissance Castle in Scandinavia,St Peter's church built in baltic brickin the 15th centry. The city hall which was built in 1546,the residence of the country governor & Kocksa Huset one of the most well preserved 16th centry building in Malmo.

I also walked through Kungsparten gardens with a lovely canal running through it,Slottstradgarden where you can buy exotic fruits, veg & plants & much much more. You can spend days here just watching people from all over the world, which really bizzare haircuts & fashion & you can here more than 50 different launguages being spoken.

I was planning on heading to Stockholm & then Helsinki but could not find a bed in any hostels, some close from the 10th Aug & others are fully booked. It is also more expensive here than Denmark so have decided to change direction & take the train to Berlin.

So bye for now, will update again soon. Jo
