A blissful day in beautiful Paraty

Across the road from where we're staying is Jabaquera beach. We strolled along and then did the 15 minute walk into town. Paraty was buzzing with a lot of people here for the photography expo. We walked into a few places to check out the the temporary galleries and then found a gelato shop. A couple of KG's worth of chocolate gelato later, we wandered around a few shops selling locally made goods. Some cool stuff but we couldn't buy anything as we're almost maxed out on our luggage capacity!
We headed back to our hotel and got changed into our swimwear then frolicked in the sea. The locals were in awe of the magnificent gun show I had put on for them
We went back to the hotel, showered and took a nap.
We then headed back into town to explore the historical centre of Paraty. The vibe was awesome and we found a lot of bars and restaurants tucked away and a lot of brightly coloured doorways and windows.
We found a nice little authentic Brazilian (Turkish) restaurant and tucked into some local delicacies (I had a chicken kebab and Nav had a veggie kebab). The food was brilliant. We asked for the bill only to be told its cash only so got directions to the nearest cash point and tried making our way there. Unfortunately, we walked for what seemed like hours discovering cash points that were either out of order or didn't accept visa or MasterCard..we eventually found a cash point that worked and learnt a valuable lesson of making sure we have cash on us and checking if they take card before we buying anything!
After the palava of paying for our meal we continued with our exploration of Paraty. We grabbed some tasty, fresh fruit vodka drinks and then came across an amazing live band playing reggae covers in the square and they drew in a massive crowd.
We headed back home and watched an episode of Game of Thrones (it's amazing!) before catching some Zzzz's.
Peace and love.
