Arrived at York ready for a good sleep.

We left Heathrow at about 3:00 pm. Took about 5 hours to get to York on the M25 - DO NOT TAKE THIS ROUTE. (Coming back to Heathrow on the Saturday morning it was a car park for at least 5kms - that's all we saw - could have been much worse.)

Finding a B&B in York at night is not fun. There are a number of one way streets around the Minster which makes it harder. We ended up giving the place a ring and ge gave us directions on the mobile phone until we got to the correct street.

B&B was okay. Most expensive on the journey and hardest to book - York is popular - book early. We stayed here which was okay - about a mile wlak from the York Wall Minster 1

York is a great city - heaps of things to look at and buy. Markets were on and I bought a Mountain design jacket and jumper - two pieces. Came in very handy later on in the trip. I bragained down from 60 pds to 55 pds. Told her I would get an automatic 45% off in Doha.

Minster was well worth it as was the castle and the museum. Get yourself a York Pass and spend at least two full days in this place - more if you have time. York Pass
