10.01.09 - The Frenchies
I can't believe we caught up again. My dear frenchies from Pt. Augusta came over. I let them stay over and I knew it'd be like heaven for them. Finally somebody that appreciated comfort. Just backpackers do that, cause they have to live without.
We had some lovely chicken, nice wine and played taboo. It couldn't have been a better evening. It almost felt like I invited some friends over for dinner. God how I wish it would actually be like that...
Why did I even bother talking about residencies, Yve when do you get it, there is no happy ending! Why wish for it. Californiacation was right: "Desperate to feel something - anything - we are fucking our way towards the end of days." So today is my first day as Ben's official room mate. Relationships just don't seem to work and if it doesn't work out, there's no sense in forcing it. It didn't really take him long either to get another girl, oh well I got replaced once more. Shit happens and if I look at the bright sight, I've got my own room now ;) with a balcony (!) just the key is still missing and it's closed..
Well future facts will be, Yve is coming back home, hopefully studying something interesting for once and establishing my own little place. I just hope I'll find some people that smile from time to time, cause I'm already scared of the picture that happens on the airport Frankfurt.. People will have those serious looks on their faces, a hassled movement and they will be busy doing things. Apart from that they'll all wear black or dark blue, whoever will stick out will be a tourist.
But hey maybe I'm not going to fly back, maybe I'll find a boat that would take me to Europe.. I gotta check that out. I really would love the boat experience! Something new, something different, something I haven't done before. It would make things easier too, since I own two guitars, a laptop and a board game now...
So I'll just stick around for another while watch Ben's girlfriends walk in and out, make some money and come up with a leaving idea. Speaking of money, I didn't mention yet that I've got two jobs!
One is at the Jolly Frog Restaurant, a very classy place and I'm a real waitress this time. Doing the whole cutlery thing, taking orders, handing out three different courses and it's been really good. I even got to work in the kitchen for little stuff, you always learn something new and hey good music in the restaurant!
The other job is way more fun though, I'm working for Independent Events, who organize bar staff or service crews for events. Since I got my RSA License I'm working on every upcoming event behind the bar. That is probably the best job I've ever had. You are simply part of the party and people enjoy themselves, which is an awesome atmosphere. So I worked at the Southbound Musicfestival, the Beerfestival and I'm going to work on Ragga Muffin too (Roman you're missing out!).
We had a belated X-mas staff party. It was a good night, finally out again, talking to people, dancing a bit and I had a chat to one of our chef's. I'm moving! He's got a spare room at his place pretty close to the Jolly Frog and I can finally escape getting my pride hurt every fricking day.
