If it makes you happy, then why the hell ... ...am I so sad. I have the answer to my quest. I'm searching for lasting happiness, but it's nowhere I go. Even seeing the eight's world wonder doesn't change that. Although I have to admit it's quite stunning. It feels like "die Suche nach dem Wasser des Gluecks" and guess where this story ends, they finally find it at home. I went through this park today, smelled the lake water that reminded me of our lakes Katzenbach/Emensklinge/Steinbruch or Straussee, saw grapes growing like 'Besgamer Weinbergtraeuble', listened to music out of a famous opera which grandpa would have loved... Everywhere I go, I get reminded of the past and it makes me sad.
It's not about traveling far or seeing as many things as possible, it's more about having a home and being with friends. I write this sad even though I was asked to give five autographs today. Well stars might be famous but they are lonely. My trip to Xi'an consisted of orders I had to follow if I didn't want to end up in useless discussions. Seeing one sight after the other always searching for the next bus connection. [towers, park, world wonder, park and a lot of do's and don'ts...] I followed four days straight hearing mostly stuff like, 'get up', 'come on', 'go there', 'don't put that there'. There was not one conversation that went a little deeper, actually there was one situation that quite got it to the point. We visited a garden and were about to pass underneath a bridge with three gates. I chose the right gate, everybody else went through the middle one. Afterward Abby asked me why I chose that one, I said I just liked it and asked why she asked me that. She said, it's bad because in China that means that you are not on the list.
Yeah you know what, that's exactly how I feel, I am not on the list and you know what, I don't want to be either! At least one thing I took out of that trip though was Roger teaching me 'ing tau' and 'zau may' - cherry and strawberry. More thumbnails ...
