Train to Nanning

Arriving at Litang we simply got another train into Nanning. Having Janice around is really compfortable. I wouldn't have been able to buy a ticket just by using my hand, I guess. We went into the last wagon of the train and that way we got really nice seats this time. I could put my bag under the tabel so that way the lady with the foodwagon would not step over me all the time.
The whole trainride was so foggy and misty I couldn't tell what is outside. The only thing we noticed is that the soil changed in color, it went bright red. It's not even possible to tell where north is at, the sun is not visable at all.
Finally seeing Angelyn and Derek at the trainstation in Nanning felt soooo good! Seeing familiar faces is something special around here. They got a cheep hotelroom for two and later on we just sneeked in, it was easy. So I could mail again some of my stuff home, since I was definately carrying to much around with me anyway. I allready reduced my stuff twice and it still feel as if I got way too much. Sorry Mum, that I didn't put in a letter or anything, we were in such a hurry both times. But I got some really nice chopsticks in there for you. The Vietnam Visa's worked out pretty fine and we discovered a wonderful foodstreet in Nanning. It smelled sooo good in there. We had some Clams or Austern or whatever you call that covered with a lot of garlic. Totally tasty. Oh and some bread fried in oil, that reminded me so of Langosch. How I miss Langosch!
Anyway, the traffic here is pretty bad, so we came up with the idea that they should combine the motorbikelane with the buslane. That way you could arrive on time, it would be cheaper and most important the air wouldn't be polluted that bad. Somehow I can't get rid of the feeling that chinese people don't give a shit about their environment. The next day we went on a bus down to Hanoi. We got the last row in the bus just the middle seat was for somebody else. Somehow it was so clear that they would give this seat to another foreigner, so that was the time when we met Thomas (Tommy). He studies Chinese in Beijing and also gives English lectures. Seems to be that this is the way for foreigner to make money, everybody is teaching. Anyway I guess Tommy is going to stay with us for a while now, he looks as if he knows what he's doing. So that is kinda nice.
