Chocolate, Chocolate Everywhere!

Well we haven't got much to say about Bruges except it's a beautiful city (as you'll see for yourselves from the pictures) which easily lives up to its reputation as one of the most perfectly preserved medieval cities in Europe. What we have got plently to say about though is the chocolate, Bruges is heaven for chocolate lovers! We've never seen so much in our lives, it's everywhere. Chocolate shop after cholocate shop line the streets and the smell wafts out at you. In fact thinking about it it's not heaven, it's hell - so much temptation, so little willpower! We've had a couple of nights staying on a good site called Camping Memling about 2 miles out of the city and a couple of nights on a free parking area especially for motorhomes right in the city centre, it's a bit noisy and we have to use the toilets at the nearby railway station, but it's very handy for the centre and costs nothing which is becoming very important at this late stage of our travels! Weather has been pretty bad, cold, wet and windy, but it's supposed to be picking up (fingers crossed!). Another thing that strikes you about Bruges is the amount of bikes, everybody seems to use them. It's quite precarious on foot sometimes, especially as there's more cycle lanes than pavements! Talking of bikes, since having ours stolen in Spain, we have upped our security levels a notch for the new ones and now have around £100.00 worth of locks - take a look at the picture (paronoid or what?). Note the biggest deterrant - an old pair of Rob's socks carefully wrapped round the 'D lock' to stop it scratching the frame!
