Horsing around .........

We are still in Roses, still waiting for our replacement credit card to arrive - just as well there is plenty to do around here to keep us occupied we could be here for a very long time knowing the Spanish postal service!  We stumbled across a horse festival today at Castello called "Bless the Horses".  The trial of horse muck lead us through the narrow winding streets to the town square where all the action was - horses of all sizes from miniture ponies to donkeys to huge cart-pulling horses.  Many of the people were dressed in traditional costume and the small town was buzzing with atmosphere.  We followed the parade through the town up to the church where the horses were blessed by the local priest.  Along the way the cafes that lined the steets were handing out doughnuts and wine to the people on horseback (none for us unfortunately!). After that we went to a nearby town called Empuribrava, had some tapas for lunch (as you do), mingled with the millionaires and decided we would rather have Daisy than any of the Ferraris, Porshes or Mercedes that we saw (yeh right!!)  The town is lovely, there's a sort of canal system runs through it and all the houses are set on the edge of the water with the yachts moored right outside!  See ya soon - off to check the premium bond numbers now .....!
