Where I stayed
I have finally got myself together to finish my travel journal.
I have been home since just before Easter. You might ask....... wghat have I been doing that it has taken me so long to finish my diary. Well, for a start there was 6 months of mail to deal with! I never realised how much junk mail there is - it took me ages to sift the chaff from the wheat.
I spent Easter week-end in Rottingdean - went to a special evening with my friends to their church on Good Friday and my family came to stay for a few days. On 25th April I went to Ireland to play in a golf tournament at Druids Glen - it was a great week - good weather, company and wonderful venue. I then stayed in Ireland and visited Michael's family in the west of Ireland.
Eight of us went away for a golf week-end on 9th June to The Wiltshire - we had a fun time - this is an annual event - I have to organise the outing for next year - St. Andrews here we come!! I then went to Spain for 5 days and arrived back on 18th June.
My next mini-break will be on 8th July to the Greek Islands via Venice (this will be my first cruise) - up to now I have baulked at the idea of cruising - I was going to wait until I was in my 80's but........ I changed my mind! I nhave never been to the Greek Islands so it will be an adventure. My daughter has iinvited me to Nice in the south of France in August - of course, I could not refuse especially as my little friend Serena will be there and will need looking after! All in all I am keeping as busy as possible - I cannot afford to let the grass grown under my feet - I am accepting any trips that come my way - life is too short to sit at home and mope about - I cannot be accused of being a home bird!
Finally, I have booked a place in Florida for 6 months from Nov 06 to May 07 - all being well and the good Lord giving me good health in the meantime.
My trip has been a magical experience and I know Michael was looking after me on my journey - I had no bad experiences and never felt worried or concerned for my safety.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my diary as much as I have writing it, and when I decide to complete the unfinished bits I will keep you posted!!
