Back in Argentina

We left early by bus for El Calafate - crossed the border into Argentina. This was a five hour trip through not very interesting countryside. This is a very touristy town and has grown enormously in the past 4 years. That evening Jo and I went to visit an Estancia - El Galpon del Glaciar. It was a real tourist trap - not a working estancia - lots of Japanese tourists there!! Not to be repeated. El Calafate is on the shores of Lago Argentina and is the hub for the Parc Nationale Los Glaciares. More thumbnails ...
