La météo est bonne, la routine accomplie, allons-y. Contre toute attente le vol se passe sans incident (c'est que je deviens nerveux, moi!) et nous arrivons à Asunción sans retard ni surprise. Les employés de l'aéroport sont accueillants et chaleureux.
L'un d'eux nous emmène même à notre hôtel (j'apprendrais demain qu'il est en fait un chauffeur de taxi, plutôt cher, qui est autorisé à se promener du coté aviation de l'aéroport. A moins qu'ils soient vraiment très coté schwepping ici). C'est dimanche, donc tout est plus ou moins fermé. Il y a beaucoup de vieux bâtiments de style colonial. Les rues sont larges et ombragées. Il y a des arbres partout. Notre hôtel a l'air d'être l'un des meilleurs en ville. Possible, mais il a quand même l'Air vétuste. Définitivement plus la première jeunesse. Mais ça ira. La vue sur la ville est intéressante. Avez-vous remarqué que les gens ici ne sont pas superstitieux? (en tout cas ils n'ont pas les même superstitions que nous). Il y a un étage 13 dans l'ascenseur...
The weather is good, the routine is accomplished, let's go. Amazingly enough, the flight is eventless and we arrive in Asunçion without delays nor surprise. The airport people welcome us very nicely. Nice and helpful people. One of the airport people gives us a ride to our hotel (I will learn tomorrow he's actually an expensive taxi who's allowed on the airport's apron. Unless they are really relaxed here). It's Sunday so every thing is pretty much shutdown. There's a lot of old fashion buildings. Almost colonial style. The streets are wide. There are trees everywhere. Our hotel seems to be one of the best in town. It might be so, it still looks as old as it is. And it's not in its prime any more. But that will do. The view on the city is interesting. Did you notice people here are not superstitious (at least they don't have the same than us): there is a 13th level in the elevator...
