Porto Velho approche.

On doit voler demain.

The authorization comes. We are the next morning. This time is for real. I invite Adalberto to be my co-pilot and give a go at the Caravan. He can also do the radio in Portuguese for us and smooth things out if necessary.

The weather once again isn't great. We have a technical stop in Manaus for fuel. Then we are up again. Luckily we have a glimpse at the Amazon river. I wish I could be on its shore for a little while. Later...

Porto Velho is approaching. After the landing, Adalberto explains everything to everybody and everybody leaves us alone. Thank you, Adalberto. He also organizes for us a little evening with some of his friends. I decided to follow his advice and have a long nap. People, in South America in general and Brazil in particular, go out late. They start eating around 22:00 then go to bars or clubs. Which don't close before 06:00. Better be in shape. At least rested. The club is quite something. The language barrier has definitely been invited tonight but after few drinks it comes easier. Or maybe we started meeting people who could speak English.

At 04:00 we give up. We're still supposed to fly tomorrow. I guess is it's going to be a late take off.
