Je suis plutôt content d'être de retour à Kang. J'aime bien ce petit coin d'enfer. La vie y suit son propre rythme. Les problèmes que nous avons avec les instruments à bord de l'avion ne font rien pour améliorer ce sentiment... Ou si peu. On se débrouille pour garder le moral. Barbecue presque tous les soirs, ça aide. La compagnie est bonne, le vin aussi. Je découvre un petit Pinotage qui vaut la peine d'affronter la chaleur pour aller l'acheter...
Le fait que nous volions dans le désert où tout est immobile contribue à maintenir l'illusion que la vie est en suspend. Tout comme le temps. Mais je ne suis pas dupe. Les différents sièges de sociétés bouillonent. Ils veulent savoir pourquoi nous ne volons pas plus. Bientôt leur impatience va nous rejoindre.
Après un mois de vie tranquille à écouter le chant des étoiles le soir, il me faut rentrer. Le bureau m'a promis un nouveau voyage, de nouvelles aventures, l'inconnu. Pas question de refuser. Je repasse donc pas Gaborone dire au revoir à deux amis chers, Duma et Letoatse, deux jeunes guépards de la réserve Mokolodi, tout proche de Gabs. I'm quite happy to be back in Kang. I like it there. Life follows its own rythme. The problems we encounter with the equipment do nothing to help that feeling... Or so little. We manage to keep a good spirit anyway. Barbecue every night more or less help a lot. The company is good. So is the vine. I discover a little Pinotage that's worth facing the heat to go get it...
The fact we fly in the desert where everything stands still maintain the illusion life is on hold. But I know better, the head offices are storming. They want to know why we're not flying more. Soon their storm will reach us. After a month of quite life spend listening to the sing of the stars at night, I have to go back to Canada. The office promissed me a new journey, new adventures, unknown. No way I can refuse! I stop in Gaborone on my way back to say fairwell to my two friends, Duma and Letoatse, two young cheethas from the Mokolodi game reserve, near Gabs.
