Well it's great to be back, some of you know what fantastic food you can have here all for reasonable prices. Just remember not to let anybody get their wallet out before yours or you'll end up not paying anything and feeling completely stingy. The list of food is endless, grilled fish, fried squid, kuay teow, nasi lemak, pisang goreng, pau,etc...
This was a fantastic opportunity to get in touch with friends both locally and more distant. We joined a fantastic party in Paris live via webcam and had an excellent early morning of fun and fatigue. Eventually got home after the party at 5hr,although that of course was after stopping for teh tarek and roti canai. We took a trip up to the highlands for some cooler air in the cameron, mostly known forits tea plantations but a great get away from the heat and stuffiness of KL. Here we took a couple of treks upto about 2000m injust sandles due to some bizarre advise in our hostel. Sandles were not really adequate it's much better to wear boots to get around some huge steps and giant roots, not to mention the mud.
Thanks to Hui Ping we got tickets up to the twin towers bridge without having to queue up like everybody else. The view although not perfect was pretty good and gives a different persepective on KL with its maze of streets and flyovers. Finally helped out our friends Fatt Chan and Joey to paint their new appartment in Singapore, this was a real rush since we were catching our plane just after. Of course Simon tested the pool which is huge for appartment blocks and almost empty of other guests. More thumbnails ...

sounds good (reply) Aug 17, 2007 07:40 EST by damonjon
yea, i am sure you are tearing into that eastern cuisine. I am getting hungry. Nice shot from the window looking out. Those towers are huge...i think the tallest in the world. Nice to bridge the gap between Oz and La Chine with good friends, good food and a paint brush.
take it easy,
Damon

Many thanks to Dom and Simon for all the help. With their help we managed to finish for the day by 8pm. Otherwise, we think we will still be painting/cleaning the house well past midnight!
Actually, they were earning their one night stay at our apartment, hence the need to work....haha just kidding!
Many thanks again! and have a safe journey ahead
Cheers
