Touchdown Switzerland! We ditched our bags at the hostel and spent the evening with a picnic on the banks of Lake Zurich. Browny went in for a swim but I'm afraid it was a little chilly pour moi.
In the centre of town we hired bikes and rode around merrily, at first sticking close to the water, and later attempting to ascend the Zurich hills up to the FA heaquarters and a good view over the lake.
We met Rundalia (??) that night back at the hostel and she generously offered us some Swiss delicacies, including giant cherries, quaaaaaaaaaark, potatoe pies, and some biscuits that looked suspiciously like even her dog had rejected them.
Nevertheless, being by the water was nice... Zurich scores... 7.5/10. A fine place, easy to spend time there admiring the waters, but nothing infinitely exciting. Best things: The night we spent on the banks of the lake, making a video of Browny shivering as he emerged from his swim in it. Worst things: The rather large hill we cycled up to reach FIFA. And then being confronted with a lifesize Emile Heskey figure when we made it. Ouch! Return Visit? Possibly. Other Swiss places head the list though.
