Hamburg

Talk about gloomy - Gothenburg style weather hit again, sabotaging our brief visit to Hamburg. I seem to remember much card playing, falafel eating, and bad attempts at German instead. Much to Tom's delight we managed a trip to the Reeperbahn, however. Featured in a song of his beloved Tom Waits.

And spent alot of unfortunate time checking out the red light district.
There was also an awesome food market just behind our hostel that we'd been planning to go to ever since we'd arrived for a spot of nice food for a change. But no, by 8pm it had closed and we were left empty handed, but for falafel. Grrh, Hamburg!
Hamburg scores... a 5/10. The city itself - poor showing. The district we were in, and the hostel, fairly nice. Weather = poor yet again. Best things: Walking around for hours admiring the food market and trying to decide what to buy. Worst things: The food market closing before we could get anything. Devastated. Return visit? Well I would like to finally experience the market. And again, maybe under nicer weather. Not a priority however.
