Tonights stop over - the last on the highway - was made at - the last settlement before Port Augusta. On the way there we passed through Glendambo again, charming as ever, and then made a brief photo stop at Lake Hart, shimmering white in an awesome fashion under the setting sun... again, too big to take a proper picture of though.
It was on this stretch of road that: 1) We fell head over heels in love with Lionel Richie 2) We saw a rather comical dead cow, lying on its side, with all its legs suspended in mid-air, obviously recently hit, and filled with methane 3) We shaved past a kangeroo that seemed intent on being hit, jumping out in front of us 110 km/h. How we missed it will forever remain a miracle - we both nearly had heart attacks.. not to mention a kangeroo shaped dent in the side of the van that we'd have had to explain away to the rental company.
*790.5 km driven* - longest day on the road, breaking the 6000 km mark.
