Fairytale Country

It was all looking a little grim again this morning as we set off for our third and final country, Slovenia. No stamp though, we were going back into the EU. Hence there were strict border controls, and we had also foolishly mistimed our Slovenia trip as it coinceded with thousands of Croatian football fans driving through Slovenia to Austria for their Euro 2008 fixture with Germany. So we got stuck in alot of traffic and were caught in a massive red and white checked sandwich, with a few air horns for good measure.
There was some amusement as a bloke a few cars in front of us was turned away after queuing for ages, and ordered back to Croatia. Once in Slovenia it wasn't much better going - the weather got progressively worse and we met with vast amounts of roadworks.
Eventually we made it to Celje, and headed for the castle, which had great views over the city. It was practically deserted so we went for a wander around.

The grim weather meant that there was mist surrounding the castle, and it all looked a bit fairytale-esque... very pretty.

There were also views over the city below, and a fair bit of climbing over the castle ruins.

Once we'd exhausted possibilities of the castle we drove down into town to have a bit of a look around. There didn't seem to be anything special so we made a swift exit on the road to Maribor to see what was in Slovenia's second city.
