The drive between our last bush camp in China and the border town of Zhangmu and across to Nepal is stunning - the scenery is so different from what we've seen on the Tibetan plateau.
04 Prayer flags
There are trees and lots of them and hundreds of waterfalls fed by the monsoon rains which are still very much in evidence. Despite beautifully blue-skied mornings, by mid-afternoon the heavens are leaden and our waterproofs are bound to come in handy.08 Cloudy
We seemed to descend for most of the day along a very precarious road indeed that many on the truck found quite nerve-wracking. After a night in a suitably dodgy border-style hotel (luckily Sian didn't hear about the mice and rats until after we'd left!) we crossed into Nepal. We got a fantastic welcome - people seem genuinely happy to see us and were waving madly at the sight of our truck (in fact we think they are highest on the 'waveometer' since the Kyrgyz!). I think we're all going to get arm-ache...
