Took the sleeper train from Belgium via Cologne to Vienna.
Managed to squeeze in a trip around the Cathedral and a sausage in Cologne even though we were only there for just over an hour - would definitely recommend travelling by train and not flying.
The City Night Line was fab, if a little cramped. Had a two bed cabin and whiled away a couple of hours in the restaurant compartment - following our progress along a picturesque Rhine. Arrived in Vienna to be welcomed by the Wombats hostel.
Highlights in Vienna:
- Watching Jim squirm at the (very graphic) exhibitions in the Modern Art Museum
- Marvelling at the grandeur of the National Library
- Eating Sachertorte at the Hotel Sacher
Jim injury count: 0 despite comedy slip on a banana skin
I kid you not.

Our (tiny!) cabin
