Leaving India was slightly bittersweet. I probably spent as many days plotting a way to
depart there as I did appreciating the powerful energy of the people and eating the delicious curry. Although once I found solace in Rishikesh and met new friends in Delhi I realized I could’ve easily spent another month here. Of course that wasn’t until after I had already booked a flight to Bangkok, a destination synonymous with comfort and debauchery.

In the meantime I was determined to change my perspective of Dirty Delhi. Mission accomplished with help from friends of friends: Sachin Bodwal and Aman Bahl, as
well as my CS host, Nirmal and Yeshi. This go around I spent the bulk of my time in South Delhi, getting to know some of the more posh residential neighborhoods such as GK1, Visant Vihar, and Malviya Nagar. I stayed in the latter with two bachelors. It took a miracle that in their absence I managed to dodge a disaster; nearly electrocuting myself trying to warm bath water in a bucket using a large heating rod plugged into the wall. Sorry guys for showing my appreciation by accidentally locking you out of the house on a Saturday night.

I was sure not to leave India without taking advantage of their dental tourism. Through an American Embassy referral I was happy to get a thorough teeth cleaning and new bite guard from Dr. Giroti at Sterling Dental.
