Today was another relaxing day. I woke for the 9:00am yoga class, had breakfast and a shower before catching a becak. I didn't mention before but a becak is the local transport, taxi substitute which is a cart attached to a bicycle that they guys line the street offering you "transport." Always paired with the question, “where you from?”

I finally made use of the becak to get me to the close by Yoyga electronics in search of an extra camera battery and an alternate USB hard drive. This complex is a five story mall with purely electronics. The first two floors are dedicated to mobile phones and sim cards but it was worth the trip just to see everyone in action. The remainder of the day I relaxed at Via Via again until leaving for the airport.

My 8:00PM flight to Denpasar on Lion Air was over an hour delayed as expected with Lion Air. During that time I started changing my plans at the last minute. Originally I was set to meet up with David Meller’s friend Dewi who lives in Ubud. She was kind enough to offer to pick me up at the airport. But that was before I realized that Ubud is further inland and beyond Kuta/Seminyak so it would make more sense for me to check out Seminyak first and then go to Ubud. Not to mention you lose an hour with the time difference in Bali and with the delay I wouldn’t be settling in to room until after midnight.

In the meantime, I was able to secure a spot in a villa in Seminyak through a fellow CouchSurfer name Ricky. Ready to board, I wasn’t sure if Dewi had got my message about the change in plans because her phone only works half the time.

Dewi was not at the airport so I knew she got my message. I made it to the villa, which four of us shared. It was exactly as advertised with beautiful rooms, bathrooms and a pool. Feeling a slight sore throat coming on from driving on the moped in the cold, I knew I needed a solid night of rest to nip it before it became a cold.
