We took yet another bus tour around another city, and I think my brain must have been very full at this point, because I remember almost nothing about what we saw or learned in Munich. Apparently one of the stops was Schloss Nymphenburg because there is photographic evidence of this. Everyone was pretty tired as we neared the end of our two-week journey, so we just did some leisurely ambling through the city center before retiring. Subsequently, I have returned to visit a couple of museums in Munich. The Deutsches Museum, a physical science and engineering museum, was supposed to be really great, but I was disappointed by it. Not being particularly interested in mechanical or aeronatuical engineering, I stuck mainly to the astronomy exhibits, but I found these rather lacking compared to the space museum in Washington D.C., for example. I visited the museum with friend Andreas, who happens to be an astronomer, and I think he was even less impressed than I. Anyway, afterward we visited the Pinakothek der Moderne, a modern art museum which was absolutely fabulous and which I would gladly visit again.
