Global Village is a spacious theme-park in Dubai with exciting carnival rides, interesting pavillions from diverse countries and really cool performance locations and structures. We made the trip there to check out the amphitheater for an up-and-coming, three day Phoenix light and fire show in February. Afterwards we had dinner at one of the many Indian/Lebanese/Arabic restaurants and I have to say the fruit juices and milkshakes blow my mind. They are so delicious and cheap in Dubai that I could almost live off them.

Amongst other things I saw part of a Shaolin Monk show, the edge of a Vertical Concert, three very strange living statues and two Indian giants - easily seven feet tall - who were wandering around for photo ops. We also scored front row seating for a collaborative show by Romanian acrobats, stilt-walkers and swimming bubbles (see photos).

A couple of days later a small team of us went to the new Raffles Hotel in Wafi City to do a 10 minute uv show for an Italian-themed private banker's event. See my next entry for details and photos.
