After my Stillman Theater shows in Arnhem I took the opportunity to spend a couple of days in my favourite European city, Amsterdam. I went with my good friend Manuel who works in Malaga, Spain. Keep an eye out for him if you're ever in downtown Malaga as he has a great aviator character and wonderful show. He doesn't speak much English so it was a much-needed chance for me to practise my Spanish.
I also want to mention Maria, a true traveller from Finland, who touched me with her free-spirited, heartfelt way of living. She does a beautiful, golden living statue - see photos in the previous entry 'My Statue Friends'. Hi Maria wherever you are!
On previous trips in Amsterdam I'd been to the Van Gogh musuem and other major attractions and this time I just completely relaxed, hung out with some living statue friends and other performers, watched buskers at the Leidseplein, went to bake in the sun and substance of Vondel Park and savoured the fine local and international cuisine. My one regret is that I didn't visit Madame Tussaud's world famous wax museum. I promise (mainly to myself) that I'll go next time, and will blog photos and stories too...
