Well not quite but it was still a good weekend except for the super early start on Saturday morning.
We arrived in Brussels after a 6 hour journey via Dover where we also saw their famous White Cliffs as we caught our ferry across the British Isles. The Brussels markets were jammed packed with people. The stalls were filled with loads of yummy food, drinks and tonnes of Christmas gifts. There was also a massive ferris wheel, a merry-go-round and a beautiful light show with music that lit up the main piazza. We even saw the famous Manneken Pis- the little boy statue constantly doing a wazz.
That evening we then headed off to Brugge to settle into our hostel and get an intro of town. We then looked around the piazza near the iceskating and drank some mulled (hot spiced) wine from the markets and went off on a difficult search for a pub to sample some local beer.
The next day we went back into town to have a look around at the markets and shops which were unfortunately not opening till lunchtime because it was a Sunday so we opted for some Belgian waffles with melted chocolate and coffees in a cute cafe until they opened up.
To burn off those waffles Zoe, Caroline and I went ice skating that was conveniently located in the middle of the Christmas markets.
By then we were all pretty knackered from eatting delicious food and our adventures and it was time to head home on the bus back to London.
