After we finally found another poorly directed hotel late at night we had no hesitations in hitting the hay.
The next day after being rudely awoken by construction work being done in the hotel we were up and about looking at Milan's fabulous designer boutiques (Aramani, Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada etc) near Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery which is the world's oldest shopping mall. I had found my favourite Prada handbag there but it would cost me €700 - oh well, it is nice to dream! We also went to Castello Sforzesco - Sforza's castle and The Duomo (the second largest cathedral of the world). That evening we headed out for a fab dinner with Kate, Laura Steph and the rest of our group for our first authentic Italian meal which disappointingly didn't have spinach cannelloni available on the menu. This was all followed up with plenty of vino at the pub next door. It was pretty much empty when we got there except for a few of the bartenders middle-aged mates who happened to whip out a guitar and start playing the intro to Beatles songs and old Italian ballads that all of the men joined in on - some of the girls even got up danced with them - luckily I escaped that embarrassing fate! Haha! We all left that pretty trollied after having such a great time.
The early morning start that Laura Mc, Liv and I got up for the next day had luckily let us avoid the banging sound from the construction again which would have driven my bad hungover head mad! We then headed off to the markets down by the river and picked up some bargain items for only a few euros. We then bid Laura Steph and Kate "arrivederci" for the remainder of the trip.
