New Year's Eve

New Year's eve - after working all day we met up with Ralf and Nicole for a few drinks at the Sydney RSL. This is equivalent to a working mens club back in the UK. Cheap drinks anyway and one of the few places that actually serves pints not schooners.
Caught the train across to North Sydney around 8pm. It was starting to look busy everywhere but it was a bit quieter than Circular Quay. We managed to find a spot on some grass just near the water's edge, with a perfect view of the harbour bridge. We watched the 9pm fireworks and then had 3 hrs to wait until the real thing. A few beers passed the time away.
The fireworks started and they were spectacular. Also at this point, Graham decided to shock me by proposing. As if spending new years eve at Sydney harbour wasn't special enough! Anyway, the rest of the fireworks were also brilliant and just topped off a really perfect night. When we got back to the house there was another house party until 6am! Well New Year's day was probably a more drunken day than New Year's eve was. After speaking to my mates in Loughborough shortly after midnight (UK time), we had a relaxing day until the evening, when the party began again. Was slightly more subdued, well that was until the vodka, beer and tequila was discovered. Once again I remembered how disgusting tequila is, but at least I didn't eat the worms (See the photos!!)
