The last couple of days we seemed to have walked a lot. The hostel we stayed at was right next to a Metro station so we got a day pass so we could travel about. First stop was to the Greyhound Station to book all our bus tickets, and then we went to Ruby Tuesday's for lunch. The portion sizes in America are huge!

We then went to see The White House. You used to be able to do tours of the White House but since 9/11 it is only available to US citizens. So we stood with everyone else, behind the rails and took photos instead.

We then went on a whirlwind tour of the memorials, starting with Lincoln Memorial. Saw World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial and Jefferson Memorial. There is also a memorial to Roosevelt but we missed that one and we also missed the Vietnam War Memorial as we walked the wrong way.

On Tuesday, we went to the Pentagon, but security was really tight and you aren't allowed to take photos, or go inside so we went to Arlington Cemetery instead. It is a working cemetery but there are also lots of memorials and monuments to visit so it gets a lot of visitors. It actually has a tour bus but this seemed a bit tacky for us so we just walked about. We went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and watched the changing of the guard.

Then we walked down to the JFK grave site and also looked at the memorials to the Challenger and Columbia space crews. After that we were worn out and after a meal at Hard Rock cafe we went back to the hostel.
