So here we are on our 1st of 4 stops in Malaysia. We arrived yesterday afternoon and leave tomorrow afternoon so it really is a flying visit. We have been to see the Kek Lok Si temple today. It is a Chinese Bhuddist temple and took 20yrs to build. It is very impressive, and has a 120ft tall bronze statue of the Goddess of Mercy. It's apparently the tallest statue in the world.
Tonight we are going to watch the sunset from the Komtar Tower - the tallest building in Penang. We were going to go up Penang Hill and visit the Botannical gardens this afternoon but the monsoon rains kicked in, so we are shopping instead! Anyway, next stop is the Cameron Highlands for a bit of jungle trekking....
