So this is our last night in Thailand. We're sitting in a restaurant/internet cafe next to the train station in Surat Thani. In 3hrs time we will be catching a train to Penang, Malaysia.

The last 4 nights have been spent in a beach bungalow on a small island just off the east coast of Thailand called Koh Pha Ngan. The beach was the best beach I've ever seen - clear water, nice sandy beaches and blue skies...Paradise!

At night if you go swimming there are these creatures in the sea that light up fluorescently - hard to explain in words but very very cool. They light up the outline of your body and you look like you are glowing!

We took a snorkelling trip on the first day we were there - cost 200 baht - equivalent of about 2.90 GBP - including the masks/flippers - everything is very cheap here Graham's Birthday

! There are some very groovy bars on the island and everyone is very relaxed, not really any closing times, just whenever everyone leaves. Most of the bars also have hammocks in, so you can take a quick nap whilst waiting for the next beer!

We also saw some monitor lizards - about 6ft long lizards that move very quickly - too quickly for us to actually get a photo of them, but we did get a picture of a gecko! Also got a photo of a monkey today - they use the monkey to climb up the palm trees and pick the ripe coconuts. Just beware, falling coconuts will easily kill you.

Anyway, next stop is Penang - which is another island off the coast of Malaysia - not as relaxing as we have 2 nights there and then move to our next place...

Will definitely try and find a place to upload photos, but until then, au revoir....

Love
