On Friday night the tables were turned as for once, Graham went home after work and I spent the evening out.

After having a couple of drinks with work colleagues, I went with Anna (the girl I sit next to at work) and her friend Lisa, to St James Theatre to watch Tango Fire. Before that we went to Fujiyama Teppanyaki, a Japanese restaurant for dinner, which was fairly good value and the chef was entertaining as well. At one point we had to catch an egg in a bowl, and later on, catch a bowl of rice in another bowl. Lisa managed to spill all her rice, but they just cooked some more for her. However the waiting staff did look a little bored, and unfriendly, but maybe that was because it was quite early when we went and there weren't many people in.

Tango Fire was a breathtaking show, and it's just amazing what professional dancers can do. The first half was a bit slower paced but in the second half, the dancers and routines were sizzling! It's a 2hr show but the time just flew by as I was enthralled with the complexity of the dance routines. The costumes were pretty cool as well.

On Saturday, we went to Karori Wildlife Sanctuary. We've been there before but it was gold coin entry so we decided to go again to get a walk in whilst the weather was good. We did the Valley View walk this time, along to the dam and reservoir, then made our way back to the carpark via the lake road.

In the evening we went out again for a meal at Flying Burrito Brothers with a colleague from work, Colin and his wife Jules. They are expats like us and came over roughly the same time as us. As the evening progressed we also learnt that Jules went to University of Sunderland, same as Graham, although different years, and Colin follows Cleveland Indians baseball team. The team that we also follow, and went to see play twice whilst we were working at Cedarpoint, and another time in Seattle, last time we were travelling. It's a small world!

We've had most weekend out during June, to make up for not going out very often whilst I was studying in April and May, but now I think it's time to get back to normal and have a few less expensive weekends!
