It's been a quiet time over the last month or so as I've been studying for 3 exams, which all seem to go pretty well. I won't find out the results until end of July, but now that they are over I decided to celebrate over the weekend.
After my last exam on Thursday, I went for some long overdue shopping. In the evening, I met Graham and we went for a lovely meal at Logan Brown. This is my new favourite restaurant but it it quite expensive compared to normal NZ prices. We went for the Bistro Menu, as it was a 3 course menu. The portions didn't look that big, but although we ordered fries we didn't finish them, and we both felt full at the end.
After the restaurant we went to Te Papa to see the one man star wars show. This show is one guy who re-enacts the 3 original star wars films in 1hr. He does all his own sound effects, and is quite possibly the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Word of advice though - I recommend watching the films beforehand if you haven't seen them in a long time, as I got a bit lost through parts of it. Still enjoyed it though.
On Friday I was back to work unfortunately, but in the evening we went to see the new Indiana Jones film. Graham is a member of the social club at his work and they hired out one of the screens at the cinema, so we went with Pete & Claire as well, for $5 per ticket instead of the normal $14. The film itself was pretty enjoyable, but not as good as the original. Afterwards we went to Hogs Breath Cafe for some food.
On Saturday we went out for a curry at Masala. The food was nice but when they took my order they didn't ask me how hot I wanted the food, and as I hadn't been there before I just assumed they would make it medium. Unfortunately the first bite I took was probably a chilli and from then on, my mouth just burned! However, they do nice cocktails, and it's a good excuse to go back there again to try the food properly.
Afterwards, we went to a pub to watch the end of the rugby and then ended up at The Cavern Club. This is supposed to be an imitation of the famous Liverpool club, but I actually prefer the NZ one! It is a nice and cosy little bar, and we'll definitely be going back there.
Sunday was a very lazy day but in the evening we went over to Pam & Matt's house for dinner, and a go on the Wii Fit. We have been thinking of getting one of these for a while, and after trying it out, we have decided to get one!
