In November, I sent a parcel to my mate Pun for his birthday. At the same time I sent two other parcels, to other people for their birthdays. Those two parcels were delivered without any problem, but for some reason Pun never got his parcel. He insisted he hadn't received a attempted delivery card, so I contacted NZ Post to try and get some compensation. This involved giving the parcel details to NZ Post, then they sent a form to Pun to fill in and send back.
In January I received a letter from NZ Post stating that as they hadn't heard from Pun to confirm that he hadn't received the parcel, that they couldn't give me any compensation and the matter was now closed.
Imagine then my surprise, this evening when I checked the post, and staring back at me was my parcel that I'd sent 4 months prior. Apparently it was returned as no one had gone to collect it from the Royal Mail depot! So, now I have a lot more faith in both NZ Post and Royal Mail!
