On Tuesday this week, we got a letter from Immigration, saying we had been approved for our residency visas. The final step (I hope) was to drop our passports off at the immigration office, for them to put the visas in. We also had to pay some more money, called a Migrant Levy, which I think is for the returning visa.

The first returning visa we get is valid for 2 years, and we need it for any time we leave the country, as it lets us come back in again. After the 2 years I think we then will have to apply for a new returning resident's visa, but this may be valid forever. We shall have to wait and see. It takes approx 3-4 weeks to get our passports back.Exciting times!

Other than that, not much going on. Graham bought a season ticket for the Hurricanes, Wellington's Super 14 team Graham and the Tui Girls
Graham and the Tui Girls
. He goes with Pete, one of my work colleagues. The first two games have been on Friday nights, so it means I get my quiet night in, while he's out drinking. A winner all round!

Tui, one of the beers over here, are one of the sponsors, and last week the Tui Girls were out and about promoting the rugby. They also did a workplace shout. This is where they draw one of the season ticket holders name out of a hat, and then go and visit them at work and give them loads of prizes. Graham carried on his tradition of winning raffles and got a phone call in the morning to say that the Tui Girls were on their way to the office!! As you can see by the photos, they had a good time! He also was given 2 slabs of beer, a bright orange Tui holdall, a t-shirt and a baseball cap. At least we won't lose our luggage at the airport anymore!
